2007 POWERSTROKE PROBLEMS (6.0L)

Hi everyone. My work truck is a 2007 Ford F-250 XL with the 6.0L Powerstroke. I own a business and my truck tows a 6500 pound trailer and hauls a guessing 1500 pounds of payload usually 5 out of 7 days per week. I have 59000 miles on the truck and do regular maintenence. I've had to replace 2 injectors in this amount of time. I thought the 6.0L was a troublesome diesel. FYI, I figured that out 2 months AFTER I bought the truck new. :D I've also heard that most of the 6.0L problems were resolved by 2007. Is that true? Is there really anything I should watch out for?

IMO 06 & 07 seem to be the less problematic ones, although my early build 05 has been rock solid(knock on wood). I recommened goin into the 6.0 section and reading the Tech folder. That is a HUGE asset to have. I'll say this, the 6.0 has a bad rep, a rep that should have never been because of the confusion out there. Its a great motor when cared for properly stay on a severe service maintenance schedule and follow the tech folder and you're good..

What problems did you have with the truck after you bought it? And whats your "maintenance schedule"?

I told you. I just had to replace 2 injectors at about 45,000 miles. I named the thread "2007 POWERSTROKE PROBLEMS (6.0L)" because I was wondering of anything I should look out for. And as for my maintenence schedule, all I've done is replace my brake pads at 50,000 miles. I change the oil every 7,500 miles but I use Synthetic. Any help or advice will be appreciated.;)

I wouldn't take a 2006 model actually. I've heard of the same old 6.0L problems from the earlier ones. But then from other folks and internet, I've heard that the 05 to 07 6.0L was just as good, if not better, as the 7.3L in reliability. My last work truck was a 1997 F-350 7.3L Powerstroke and I'd take the 6.0L over it any day as to what I've experienced so far with it. The power is a HUMUNGOUS difference. At first I didn't want an automatic tranny but I got the truck shipped to my local dealer and so far this automatic has ran circles around my old 5-speed manual!

What about your fuel filters? The fuel filter should be changed every 10,000 miles. Fuel filters make a huge difference with how long your injectors last and their are two filters for the fuel system. Clean fuel and clean oil is a MUST for a 6.0. I dont wait for the "7,500" mark to change the oil. I do it every 5,000 miles. I know oil changes on powerstrokes are expensive, if you dont do it yourself but If you change the oil your self its cheap insurance to do it every 5k compared to the cost of injectors outta warrenty. Also what kinda oil and what kind of oil filters do you use? People down in the 6.0 forums go with the Motorcraft fuel and oil filters and oil. And btw i tow 5,000 to 7,500 pounds 5 days a week. So what me and the OP tow could be considered under the servere maintenance plan

Edit: The 2006 & 2007 are the best years for the 6.0. 2005 was from what i read when they started fixing them. Another thing i forgot to put in my post was the STC fittings that fail on the HPOP. If it fails it'll shut your truck off (decrease of oil press) and leave you stranded. From what ive read was that the STC fitting came apart easily, hence the name STC fitting (Snap To Connect). My STC fitting came apart but they updated the part and my tech said hes done alotta STC fittings and none with the updated part came back into the shop for that problem.
