brake caliper bolt size

Before I tear into my brakes and realize I don't have the right tool, does anyone happen to know what is needed to loosen the caliper bolts on 07 expedition? I've gotten conflicting details as to hex or torx and size, any details would be appreciated.

Just literally got back inside tonight after doing my 08 Expedition brakes.

The caliper pin bolts are an allen(hex) head that is 9mm. Its not a torx

Most hardware stores may not have a 9mm on the shelf, usually the sets

have an 8mm and then a 10mm...but no 9mm.

There out there..snap on and such...just get it before you jack her up to do the job :-X22

Thanks for the details, greatly appreciate it!

9MM

Yup, I found out the hard way. Got it all up in the air wheels off, tried both metric and standard size...did not have a 9MM. I ground off an extra 3/8 allen to fit...then went and bought the right one:-RTFM

Old thread but the info provided though correct is incomplete. As stated the bolt are hex, 9mm hex for front brakes and 7mm for the rears. A torx (dont't recall which size) will fit and grab enough to remove the rear, unsure about the fronts. Valid for 07 navigator anyway.

I've tried a 9mm and it was too small. I have a 2008 expedition limited is there any difference between the limited and the other models?
