It's excellent

Anyone have a link?
|
You're kidding me right? what up and coming redesign. . .i bet we are at least talking 2013. . maybe farther.
|
There's no link. I was just being vague like the original post.
|
It's going to get redesigned sooner or later. What your your thoughts on it? What do you think Ford will do to it?
|
The U324(2) will be here around late 2012 for the 2013 model year (if Ford holds to it's original product plan). U324 is the outgoing Expedition at dealerships right now.

If the Expy actually does make it to another generation, I think you'll see a hint of what the front clip of the future F-150 may resemble. Definitely some interior styling sharing.

Hopefully that will happen. I've been hearing a lot of that on some forums that Ford considers doing this. It would save them money I guess.
I actually like the looks of the front clip of the current Expy better than the F-150. |

The first gen expy's and the F-150 were the same, made sense. Then Ford saw fit to give them different identities. Both nice but how cost effective is that?

We will see what happens. I've heard on some other forums that 2012 or 2013 will be the big year for those two. 2011 F-150 gets fuel efficient engines except the Expedition? That doesn't make any sense. I own a 2009 Expedition and I'm getting tired of filling it up. The trip computer in mine says it gets 8 in the city. It doesn't even have the power I want. Hopefully it will get the Ecoboost or the 6.2 like the F-150.

While the Navigator seems to be selling decent for Lincoln, don’t be surprised if Ford adds an ultra high-end luxury Platinum version of the Expedition to replace the Navigator in the future. It would help save in development costs as it would eliminate having exterior and interior design teams to tailor the full-size SUV to the Lincoln brand. It would also save in parts manufacturing as there would be no need for multiple parts for a single vehicle platform (i.e. the Expedition and Navigator have different headlamps so two different headlamps have to be manufactured, not including other parts such as hoods, grilles, bumpers, interior trim, dash, door panel and so on)
Ford did the same for the Ford F-150 and Lincoln Mark LT. Ford added the F-150 Platinum and dropped the Mark LT. (note that the Mark LT is still sold in Mexico) While this is just speculation now, again, don’t be surprised IF it happens as Ford looks for more ways to save money. Also, if it does happen, you will see the Expedition Platinum compete with the Caddilac Escalade and it's rivals. |
It will have a jet rocket for an engine, have an optional time machine/hot pocket maker. Anything else you want to know?
