13.5" wide tires on 12" wide wheels - Pics Please!
I'm thinking of doing cutout flares and want to run Toyo MT's in a 38x13.5" if possible, but I need a 12" wide wheel to get enough offset. The tires are rated for 11" wide wheels, so my fear is on 12" wide wheels it will look too balloon-like. Please post pics if you have 13.5" or 325 wide tires on 12" wheels, over 37" preferred. Thanks!

Nobody has pics?

Somebody has to be running this combination...
|
Is this anything close to what you mean?
|
Thanks, but not really. Those are 38x15.5 tires on 12" wide rims, looking for a 13.5" wide tire.
|
i'm running 13.5's on 10 inch wide 16's if that helps i think i have pics in my profile.
|
Nope, wanting pics with wider wheels, thanks. My last tires were 12.5" wide on 10" wheels, so have a good idea what that looks like.
|
Not sure you'd be happy with the way the tires would wear not to mention what a rock would do to the rim.
|
I searched the web but couldn't find any...
|
wow!!! thats a first...andrew found no photos of that rim/tire combo.
|
I searched a lot too, that's why I started the thread. Yeah, if the wheel sticks out too much I wouldn't do it, but that's why I want pics to be sure. I saw a set of 37x13.5 tires on 22x14's and it looked retarded, but it made me think a 12" rim wouldn't be that bad.

Yeah, either 18 or 20. Probably will end up going 20 since there are more available that size.

Yes I have. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

I think that you need to go with 14.5" wide tires with the 12" wide wheels...

Yeah, just not finding much in a 14.5" width that isn't overly aggressive. Those pics look about right, but they also added that ugly bead lock to the Cheyenne's which bumps the wheel out another 1/4-1/2" or so, and those were 18s and I'll probably have 20s. About the only 14.5" wide ATs I can find is leftover Pro Comp Xtreme ATs in a 38.5, and I really want to stay away from 15.5" wide if I can.

Just curious, is this mostly for looks?
Because looking at your truck it looks set-up like you use it! Those 20" tires don't have much sidewall if you ever need to air down. We run 17" but we're chasing Trophy Trucks all over Baja. |
I know... I would really prefer a smaller wheel, but can't find enough offset in anything less than 20". Still hoping I find a set of 18x12 Weld wheels, but that isn't looking promising. I have found a set of 17" Weld's, but 38s on 17s the tires don't have near the load rating as those with an 18"+ wheel.
