What's everyone got planned for the 4th?

Me, I plan to start moving furniture if the rain doesn't mess up my road repairs of this last weekend. I installed a large culvert in a creek crossing and filled in several of the worst holes. You never know what the river bottoms are going to be like after a rain, except slick.
At least the dust won't be quite as bad for the first trip or two, the powdered silt was about 2" deep Sunday.
I have a 53 Willys Jeep with 17/40 Mudders on it, so access is not a problem, just don't want the mud on everything. I'll post some pics of the Jeep, right now you can hardly tell what color it is. I rode around some of the other roads where I hadn't been in a while, some of the mudholes have gotten deep over the years :-X10

Going to a family reunion/dysfuction (dad's side of the family) over the holiday weekend. It will be an interesting time. It will be the first time we've all been in the same zip code in close to 15 years. I've got cousins my kids have never meet. Yeah, I think I'm going to come out ahead on that deal Jeff....moving just stinks in my book.

That ain't no joke! I can think of a couple of times I thought I'd rather be on packed sleet instead of the wet/slick clay/slit road I was on. Can we say "Yee Haw" boys & squirrels?

Both sides of my family have given up on reunions. Dad's side, well I wouldn't go if invited, don't have anything for his brothers or sister. Mom's side, well, if you call a few visits from the cops and probably a trip to the emergency room before it's over a good time..........:( Yes, I have a very dysfunctional family too, a little too much of this :-partybud , some of this :-X19 and then probably this too :-X01 So, I just stay away :-X10

Slush box or gear grinder? I know on the '92 Exploder Sport we had...there was a trick to getting the gear grinder out. There was a cross member under the tail shaft housing that was riveted in place on one side. So you couldn't just drop it down once it was un-bolted.

It is a slush box. The cross member under the tail shaft housing will unbolt from the frame on each side so that won't be a problem. I found that out when I was taking the replacement out of the wrecked truck I bought. I just hope I don't have much trouble getting the swap done.

Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th. I got quite a bit of my furniture moved to the 'Bay. Only problem was a rain storm that saturated most of it. My son in law took his Nissan PU about half way in from the gravel, I had to drag him out. Sun. was spent painting kitchen cabinets not exactly what I would have prefered, but must be done.
