Maybe I can redeem myself

A while back I posted the news that I had bought a
Dodge, well, today I put in a bid on a repo 2002 F350 CC PSD. It's sort of rough, high mileage and all, but repairable. How many miles can be expected from a 7.3 PSD, this one is showing 317K. My only real concern is the auto trans, I have no idea if it has been rebuilt or not. Should know in a day or two if I get it.

It really depends on how well it was taken care of. I've got a '95 1 ton with about 275000 on it an it runs great. The original A/C will still freeze you out.

I got a '96 ¾ Ton with about 275000 that's on it's 3rd engine. Although the 2nd had a cracked block when I had it put in. Didn't know that! And anyway, Scott and David would of never had the pleasure of meeting the guy that helped start the Arkansas chapter if it wasn't for that 3rd engine.

So, did you get the truck?

Don't know yet, haven't heard from the loan officer. He was sure of it, but had to take the offer before the board first. Hopefully will know sometime today.

How much are you borrowing?

With that many miles, I'm guessing its had some transmission work, although you never know.

Is it a 2wd or 4?

Not a penny, gonna pay cash. ;)

You know Joe, I really didn't look that close :o pretty sure it is 2WD. For the bid price, I can't pass it up either way.

OK... If I would just read the thread... I hope you get it.

So, is it a chassis cab or does it have a bed back there? Kind of curious about the truck that might "right your wrong":-X05 I know it isn't, but when we bought the 10k car hualer this past Feburary...the seller had a '95 F350 (SRW) on his lot that was a repo. Hope that isn't the truck your biding on. The guy selling us the trailer claims the F350 was a cherry when the guy picked it up for hot-shot work in the oil/NG field business. We looked at it for a few minutes (one of my buddies had a '94 w/a 460) to see if there was anything worth salvaging off the truck. But calling it rough would be an understatement. I think the only straight piece of sheet-metal on the truck was the top of the cab. The 7.3L was in pieces...though I don't remember what was wrong with it. None of the tires matched...and one of the rims was pretty messed up. You kind of felt sorry for the truck.

It has a 8' tool bed on it. Actually, the bed is the roughest part of the body. I think there was one small dent on the cab, in the front passenger door, but the rest was pretty much straight. Tires are in good shape, but the interior is getting tired, as you can imagine at 317K miles. Definately needs a windshield too.

Well, never did hear back from the loan officer, so I guess the board didn't go for the bid. But the F350 and a beat up F250 4X4 gasser are still sitting on the repo lot, so hope is not lost.
