How much does it weight
 

I have recently purchased a 1977 Ford F-250 with a 351M 4 Speed Divorced transfer case. What i need to know is the approximate curb weight so i can tow the truck to my house.

my 79 f-350 4x4 with a 460 and 33s weighed 5150 (one day) and my 77 f-150 4x4 with a 351m and 235s weighed about 4500 i think so you should be safe calling it 5000 lbs.

well then i think im going to need a bigger trailer

78 with 36 and 400 6k with me in it

what kind of trailer do you have? any 18 ft car hauler should handle it, even with 5 lug 3500 lb axles. How far do you have to tow it?

I don't know where you guys are weighing your trucks. But there's no way they are that heavy. I agree with Lasthighboy, 4500 is a good starting point for a stock truck.

well at first i was going to use a dolly but with that weight i think im going to go with an actual trailer which would be a 16ft 7500 is about all i got.....???

It will fit just fine on a 16ft 7500 pound trailer. Here's a pic of one of my trucks when I hauled it home.

I'm using a 20ft trailer. But as you can see, there is PLENTY of room.

i weigh mine at the elevator a couple miles from my house. it might not be 100 % accurate, as the elevator has been closed and the mechanical scales not used for several years, but it gives me an idea. built trucks could bet close to 6K depending what all is on them. 36" tires are heavy. my 79 had 33x10.5s on aluminum wheels. I know that my 36 Hummer tires on steel wheels are MUCH heavier. I also stripped all the a/c out of mine. Fully loaded with stock and aftermarket accessories adds up. my friend with an 80 chevy weighed 5800 at the city dump. My 77 was bone stock when i weighed it, minus interior carpet. bench seat had also been replaced with wagoneer buckets. My 75 mud truck with no bed, completely (interior, trim, wiring, lights, bumpers) gutted, with 460 weighed 3800.

i wasnt sure if a 16 ft trailer would handle it. i have hauled mine on 18ft trailers and seems like i wouldnt want 16. I was also towing with a stock 2wd 1/2 ton so may have had the load in a different place. 20 ft trailers sure are nice though...

well i would be pulling with a 3/4 Dodge so my only concern is the trailer

1979 F150 4x4 SWB 351m/t-18/np435 with 33's on 15" alloys, headers, aluminum intake, no ac, and large desert cooler radiator is 5000 lbs with me (275) and 1/2 tank of fuel.

I pull into the state patrol weigh stations every now and then when I am bored and think about it.

Those are 36's on my F-250 in the above pic....still isn't very heavy. Most scales at dumps and scrap yards don't seem to be very consistent. The weight of my truck and trailer has varied up to 750 pounds....depending on what scale I cross.

is that stock with 36's not to rob my own thread or anything
