I'm in that South Tipton county area that's got no water in their pipes right now, and not far from a whole mess of folks that have had to evacuate because the water OUTSIDE the pipes came rolling into their homes...

Lucky for me I had water put up in a few jugs, and I'm on high ground. My biggest worry was for the plants in my micro-farm. I think they'll be alright though. It seems a 12" main along HWY 51 busted due to flood waters (!) so they "water, water, everywhere" but it's scarce to drink (much less wash with)

I heard in Atoka people were getting out in boats. That's five miles to my east. Until otherwise informed, I'm going to sit tight and worry about shopping in a day or two. It's a mess out there.

Did you get like ten inches of rain all at once?

I've heard it was 11 by early sunday, it looked like mid-TN got it worse, with 17 inches in places. It started friday night/saturday and just kept on blasting down in a series of heavy rain squalls.

After this I'm going to keep at least three five to six gallon jugs of fresh water filled for a while, since what breaks once in this county tends to keep on breaking until they get it all replaced RETROactively, as opposed to PROactively! (I know that's right).

~Naturally, all the flooding and heavy rain had no effect on the "GD'd" ants that are all through my plants... I'm researching "MASS ANT DESTRUCTION" right now. 8D

We got 4-5 inches in Chattanooga, and had some flooding inspots, but NOTHING like Nashville and Memphis. Thoughts and prayers to all those affected.

Nashville had 15 inches by Sunday morning, one location was under 15+ feet of water, the down side of being on the river, Bell Rd had a building floating along I-24 before the current ripped it apart on the way under the overpass.

Yeah I am currently on vacation, as the Naval Base is closed. The server room had machines floating in it. I am currently on stand by but who knows when it will get cleaned up.

I have a friend who has family in Nashville. This is I24.

Clarksville low lying area hit hard as well as Ashland city; the worst in my opinion is folks not only lost there homes but source of income as well.
Time for our tax dollars to be spent here in AMERICA and not overseas!

Ditto on the tax thing. I live in Smithville and there was flooding down at Alexandria but nothing like Nashville. I got out the other day and found some buckets I had outside that were empty before the rains. They were out in the yard and only got water from the sky. They had about 12 inches of water in them. I think one reason flooding was so bad in Nashville is that a lot of the area that surrounds Nashville like where I am at eventually the water makes it into Nashville. There was no way to handle the water from the other areas as well. I lived in Nashville in the 80s going to school and recognized a lot of the areas underwater.
