Ram Runner vs. Raptor
RAM just came out with their answer to the Raptor and its called the Ram Runner. It looks pretty cool but I think they might have went to far on the Pre Runner side. I just dont think this could function aswell as a actual truck like the Raptor does. So is the Ram Runner any competion for the Raptor? Ehhh maybe I would love to see them race! I like the Raptor better though. I havent seen the Ram Runner do anything cool yet like the Raptor did Im not saying it cant jump RAMs just not advertising it like Ford did. Now this proably wont ever make it to the line but still interesting to see how RAM is following the leader of the pack.

isnt it just a dealer option?

Its April Fools edition Ram

yeah and it's being built in fakersfeild, california too. comes with a twin turbo version of the 6.1 hemi. ford better watch out, the government bailout gave chrysler the resources to make a vehicle that's worth a damn and doesn't rely on having a cummins motor to be sold

First of all, the Ram Runner is only a concept. So it's not competition for anything. I'm willing to bet that if it does make it to production, (which it won't), it will be a more tame version, especially in it's prerunner fender styling. Second, I'm not impressed. I've seen the Raptor blasting through the desert at 100 MPH like it was nothing. In that video, id guess the Ram Runner is going about 35 MPH and the suspension looks like it's being punished. The Raptor will remain in a league of it's own for a long time.

Just watched the ram runner video and the first thing they need to do is get some one with a pair to do their test driving. It did look like it might have gotten into the bump stops a couple times even at that pathetic speed. Surely they can do better with a prototype than that one looks in the video. I know some compromises have to be made for production but this thing looks weak even before the lawyers start freaking out about rollovers and stupid people.

lollerraptors abound!!!!!! fakes and phonies alike!!!!

Its no April fools Ive been hearing about this thing since early March here test drive review. But after reading this I think I'll still take a Raptor with a 6.2L still a cool truck though.

Yeah its like a kit you buy from the dealer bet it cost a ton. NOT street legal BTW. |
i seriousely thought you were pulling a prank. that test video just seems to cheesey to be a real test for chrysler r&d. i drive my cavalier car harder than that on country backroads. and i could only imagine how much that dealer option would cost. if it were my money i say raptor all the way

In the vid it looks like the shocks arnt dialed in for crap, to me it seems really soft and would have probably bottomed out if it would have gone any faster through that section where they filmed. Will be interesting if they do go through with the kit to see how much it sells for. Most kits that offer similar performance are 3-5k just for the front. Dont know what they did the back with their 4-link setup but i did see some coil overs. |
