Pre-sale inspection - mechanic recommendation?

A couple years back, I bought an F250 7.3 diesel that rapidly developed a hydro-lock, which only slightly less rapidly took down the whole engine. I have been truckless since then.

Now I'm back in the market for another F250 and have wised up a bit and will be doing a pre-sale inspection of the truck prior to purchase from private party (maybe dealer). I'm looking at 1990-1996 F250, diesel only.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Portland metro area place to get this pre-sale inspection done? I've used Parkrose Auto and Truck Repair (105th and Sandy) and like them alright. Also used Campbell Automotive (70th and Glisan), didn't like them so much.

From reading on these forums, it looks like I should pay special attention to the transmission and seals, and of course I will be paranoid about hydro-lock symptoms too.

In that year model range, I would opt for a 460 gas powered truck.........Not much the old 460 can't do in the power category.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm sticking with diesel as I run B99 also will do a VO conversion.
