Is there an easy way to take the fan shroud off?? I have a 5.4 liter 2004 f-150.

yea have to remove the radiator to get enough room to clear the fan.

its not going to do anything maybe even hurt. your fan wont draw enough air to proper cool your motor.

My first question is.....why would you want to?

trying to get to serpentine belt tensioner.

You don't need to remove the fan shroud to get into the tensioner. It's a bit of a tight squeeze, but you can do it.

While not necessary for the job he has in store, you most certainly can remove the fan shroud on a 5.4 NBS without removing the radiator. I did it when I changed the fan clutch a couple months ago. Took some wiggling and all, but it will come out and go back in.

just take the fan loose from it's pulley. I used a strap wrench to hold the pulley still, and a huge crescent wrench on the input shaft.

once you have broken that joint loose, the fan shroud slips right out without any issues.
