How many volts to the fuel pump?
 

I have a 2000 F350 crew cab 4 wheel drive. V10 and a superchip. I love this truck. About three weeks ago I had a few incidents where the truck would not fire. Acted like it had no fuel. I would let it sit for about 20 minutes and it would fire right up. I guessed it was a bad fuel pump. So I pulled it into the garage, dropped the tank and changed it out. When I went to start it, it would not fire. Perplexed I was. So I switched the relays around thinking that this would be the problem, but still the same thing. I pulled the plug off of the top of the tank and cheked for power. I had only one lead with juice and it read 4.6 volts. I do not think that Ford necks dow their voltage, it should be a straight 12 volts at the fuel pump plug. So I closed the hood and went inside. Came out this afternoon and it fired up.

So, has anyone experienced this before? I am scratching my head on this one.
