turbo pedestal o-rings?????????????????????
do i need any special tools to replace the orings under the pedastol?? how long does it normally take??thx
|
A torque wrench is good for going back together you don't want to under or over tighten the pedestal or the turbo. If you can get the up pipe clamp off fairly easy and this being your first time I will say allow 2-3 hours after doing it once it really don't take very long.
Good Luck its not a bad job. |
do u know the pound setting i should use

Tighten 2 turbo “hold down” bolts and torque to 35 lb-ft per Garrett.
Per Ford Service Manual 18 Ft lbs Attachment 21650 |

If the turbo bolts are torqued at 35 ft-lb howcome I needed about 300 to break mine loose?
From what I read members don't hesitate to put all the strength on standard wrenches to tight them. Evidently on this piece torquing is not critical. |

Go with the Garrett specs. I've found that my pedestal always leaks if I go with the Ford torque specs, but never leaks if I tighten down to what Garrett calls for. |
oring blew off hpop line

Here's Guzzle's PDF for replacing HPOP O-rings.
