Replaced my 25 yr old alternator for a one wire 100 amp on my 1978 460.
No more voltage regulator and all the wires associated with it. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...83f2b6011f.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...353fbe3519.jpg |
New front calipers, hoses, master cylinder, rear wheel cylinders. Truck has power booster on it, but found out the brake line nuts only fit the manual brake master cylinder. Scratching my head on that one. Got them bled, but front brakes still sticking. Pulled M/C, adjusted push rod to allow M/C piston to fully return to seat, not sticking any more. Weird thing is, it's pushing brake fluid out of the reservoir cap like it's under pressure. Never had one do that before. I need to bleed all four corners again. Hope that will work out.
Truck is looking good dads77!! Good work man. Are y'all using PB to host pics to post them here? |

It's one of the easiest ways to keep your pictures stored and then be able to post them on here (in my opinion). |
Got my cruise hooked up, missing piece that attaches chain to the carb. Be doing some hunting at the junk yards.

Well I finally got around to cleaning up my junk yard door panels and changing my intake manifold I'm pretty sure my egr and exhaust cross over hasn't worked in 20 years https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...b097797d68.jpghttps://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...a3a21bee76.jpg
https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...010c32adba.jpgIn case you're not sure what you're looking at here that is supposed to be the egr but it's completely filled with carbon. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...5d94947cec.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...eccdac0990.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...9423813188.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...ddbe16e104.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...3053930f84.jpgAnd that's the exhaust cross over. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...caeb9e8759.jpg |
I finally swapped my rear drums for discs on my Dana 60. It was pretty easy, I don't know why I waited so long!

Spread bore to square bore adapter https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...78c3ae030.jpeg FiTECH installed partially https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...b574f5dfa.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...a32c1dedb.jpeg Started working on the painless wiring harness Got the spread bore to square bore adapter installed. Bolted down the FiTECH and installed the O2 sensor. Started working on the new painless wiring harness. Still so much work to do!!! Also dropped a washer into in intake manifold so I pulled it off and found it. |
Redid the whole exhaust from the manifolds back. New mufflers and routing arrangement.

Drove it 'cause the Crown Vic wouldn't start and the truck always does. It might be cranky about being woken up but start it will.
|
Figured out that I had the bimetal coil for my thermostatic choke installed backwards. Probably why I was having such a hard time getting the choke and fast idle set up.:-banghead

Ordered my parts from RockAuto for my Dana 60 rear disc brake conversion kit....
For those of you who are Canadian... be warned! Just a word of warning for anyone out there that uses various sources for their trucks/parts shopping. Lets see if you can connect the dots as to how Paypal (top photo) is trying to scam me with this RockAuto order (bottom photo). RockAuto uses the most up-to-date currency conversion rates via Google. I enjoy using their service because I can get parts for SUPER cheap. Attachment 212059 As you can see... Paypal apparently comes up with their own baloney rate... Be aware when ordering parts guys! |
I didn't do anything TO my truck, but I did something FOR my truck... Started moving in to new place. New place has a 3 car garage. With pre-installed plumbing for air compressor hookups throughout. And a pull down shop light. And a 2 ton engine hoist. So happy! :-X03
