Pulled a factory radio, leather door accents, FORD hood emblem, and locking hood latch from a junker!
Also installed a new brake booste, master cylinder and new vacuum hose. Disconnected the HVAC vacuum since I think it's leaking inside the dash. Tomorrow I clean up a new to me grill shell, bumper and grill insert and put them on my truck! |
swapped carbs on the 78 now it doesn't run out of gas @ 4500 rpm wot like it was pulled it to 6000 a couple times... on a side note since the carb swap the tranny has been shifting better.... looking forward to racing a buddy of mine today so we can test and tune before the real races on the 23rd.... on a sad note today we are burying my best friends dad he was 47

I'm sorry for your loss. I recent lost a good friend who was 49, so I know what you're going trough. Too young.
|
its been a rough time in my county within the last 30 days lost a 23 year old to a blood clot, a 20 year old to suicide, a 40 to suicide, a couple from cancer, then this one was a massive heart attack.... but such is life
|
Not sure why it is, but bad news does seem to come in groups. Hopefully you and yours have gotten through the worst of it and have a clear spell now.
Best wishes. |

I am new to this site and have been reading many stickies. I read how to fix door switch to turn on dome light and yesterday read about intermittent wipers. So today I went to the jy and found the parts. I NOW have intermittent wipers and my door turns on the dome light.

Reattached the plug pigtail for my ignition switch instead of the individual plugs each going into the switch.

Another bodywork day today, just cleaning up the bed sides.

I done a few things, Made me a 2015/2016 f150 lighted badge, Installed a light bar in my roll-pan. I got some 255/65r16 installed on the rear,(just havent had enough time to go back to my center caps, been sick for like 2 weeks). Then I finally got to installing these flush mount hood pins i had laying around for a different project.( dont mind the nasty trash on the hood my dad and I were trying some fauxtina tricks.)

I put yet another new turn signal switch in last night. My $60 replacement only lasted about a year. Is there better ones other than these cheap china ones?
|
In what way is the switch failing? It may just be dirty. Scrub it down really well, primarily the contacts, it may be ok.
|
It wouldn't auto cancel again, hat to hold right to make it stay on.
When I replaced it this time, there were 2 little white plastic broken off pieces laying under it. The little fingers broke off. I'm not hard on her, not a gorilla ;D |
Makes sense. Both original switches I had did the same thing, canceling tabs blew out.. When I rewired my truck, I just fit a GM switch in there. Took a little hacking on the switch, but it fit my harness and worked fine. Still does not cancel, but everything works at least.
