F100 PRERUNNER
Auto Fabs truck looks awesome. I plan on it soon, just never have time or money to work on the truck. I'm still trying to figure out some cheapish frt susp. mods to give me a great deal of lift and work well off road. |
|

Here ya go, not mine though:
I have TONS of both dentside and bumpside "prerunner" (many are actually race trucks) saved, but pretty much none loaded in photobucket so I am too lazy to post any other then the ones below of my next project. It'll get started once my 74 crew is running. I guess if people want to take the effort of posting the pics PM or email me and I'll send um to you. Be warned though - it took me 8 or so emails to send the last guy that asked pics of only 3 or so trucks. As I said - I have a LOT of pics... Ok for my 74 supercab - plans include a built 351w, race built c6 with a gear venders OD behind it. Full cage tip to tail with 4 race seats inside (will go to 3 if I can't make 4 fit but I think I can), 35" BFG bajas or project tires, full fiberglass, etc. etc. Front suspension is an autofab kit for now. I will be adding a custom shock hoop to fit 2.5" x 12" King bypasses until I can get it caged. Once that is done I will be modifying some stock beams to run 2.5" race hubs and it will run 2.5" king coilovers and 3.0" Fox bypasses up front. Rear is getting chevy 64" leafs from Deaver and a 3.0" Fox bypass. http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/q...ercab/x298.jpg Custom fenders are being made right now... http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/q...73-79/1067.jpg http://i453.photobucket.com/albums/q...73-79/1075.jpg |

Very nice Suoercab!!
|
Hopefully you meant the one in post #4. That truck is unreal!
My truck isn't anything yet - just another current non runner that I threw and autofab kit on so I could get 35's on it for making the custom fiberglass. Once it's done I hope it will be as nice as the one in post 4... |
I'm all about the Autofab kit (5"?)....been "lusting" after that for my F-250 for a while.
|
Hey Chasetruck. Send 'em my way. I'll post them to my photobucket and post links here when I get them uploaded
|
Just finished sending 6 or more emails with pics.
As I said in the emails - I've got lots more. I've got more suspension pics, etc. of many of the ones I've sent and others. |

No problem - thanks for taking the time to post them. I got your last email asking for more so I'll send them. I'm just sending pics of the overall trucks though - not really any detailed ones of different bumpers or cages or leaf setups or whatever. If you want anything specific like that let me know though as I do have some and can send.
Also - I have just as many pics of bumpsides as I do dentsides:-drink |
More coming up in a little bit courtesy of ChaseTruck.
I need to get to work on my truck. This is making me jealous. |
Sorry about the order, they sorted themselves after upload:

Thanks for posting those. Hopefully that is enough to give people some ideas.
If not... I have more pics of about 90% of the trucks shown above. If people want a picture of something specific then let me know and I MAY have it. Also - I have lots of pics of bumpsides too if people like those:) |
Should have titled this thread "Paging the sand suckin hippy"
|
get back to yer mud runners ya redneck.
Or better yet - get out in the shop and find me that danged part already!!!!!!!:-X02 |
thanks for posting pics.
these photos are taking me to my happy place. love the dezert trucks, just don't get to see them much in wyoming if at all. used to live in california and played around lenwood, victorville long time ago. got a taste of some of those dezert trucks through a friend of mine. really having a blast from the past moment!!!
|
Whoa, thanks for digging this up.
ChaseTruck, What is the deal with this crew? I can kinda make out that the bed is shortened, but maybe its just my brain, but the cab looks long too. http://i1105.photobucket.com/albums/...20tow20rig.jpg |
If I remember right it's on a longbed or supercab frame. The cab is stock, just the bed is shortened.
Also - just in case someone comes across this thread and not the other - here's a link to another thread where LongTravelHighboy hosted a bunch of prerunner (both dentside and bumpside) pics I sent him. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ost-a-pic.html |
thats pretty slick. Did he section the front of the bed? Cool take on modernizing the look of that old crew. Looks like the 150 Screws of 97+
|
Yeah I'm pretty sure he did that. If you're interested ask Cheet-o (crazyredneckanyhow) or check his thread in the off road forum. He was doing one like this on a supercab frame.
I dig the shorter wheel base and look, but not the smaller bed or work involved - haha |
That white crew cab is my new inspirational piece! My wheelbase will be around 176" when I'm done though.
Lot of work to do! |
176"??? Is that a type-o?
I'm looking at putting a crew cab on a std. cab, long bed frame as the 155" wheel base of the crew cab SHORT bed is already way too long for a desert truck. I know you're not in the desert, but 176" is a land yacht! |

Sexy - thanks for sharing!
|
176 is not a typo, yes it will be hell to park but I enjoy a long wheelbase for towing and I haul a lot so a short box is unrealistic for me.
When I either buy or build the lift I'm going to the forward double swinger steering and will be modifying things for as tight a turning radius as I can get. My main reason I'll be going with Autofab or building something similar is for suspension and steering geometry and with different valving than a prerunner I want a better ride. |
Got it. I know you've got a bit more room to stretch up there, but a short bed crew barely fits in an entire parking lot down here in hippy land anymore. I'd steal parking from 4 prius' is mine ever made it out of the yard & to the supermarket.
