5.4 VS 6.2
The difference in price is $3,000. What's the HP rating differential? I do not know.

Here ya go...
310hp and 365tq for the 5.4 on 87 octane.
411 hp & 434 tq on 87 octane for the unavailable 6.2 (yet) The 5.4 does a fantastic job on the torque, but that 6.2 should be a runner! |
All the reviews I've read on the Raptor say: get the bigger engine.
|
All the people who actually own one say....
The 5.4's great.
|
6.2 is 400 hp and 400ft lbs
|
i would not want a 6.2 engine the diff in ft lbs of torq is only 3...my 5.4 in my raptor smoked a 6.2 chevy today!!!

13 in town, 14 if I take it easy. 17 on the highway, 18 if I grandma it.
That's about what all others are reporting. I suspect the 6.2 will get better than that IF driven carefully, but really, WHO'S GONNA DO THAT!?:-jammin |

What do you mean the difference is only 3? |
5.4 in my raptor is 397ftlbs and the 6.2 is 400...and the 6.2 will be made from the 5.4...the 6.2 sounds awesome maybe in later years i will get one...i just love my new 5.4...i was told by ford that the 5.4 in the raptor is different then the 5.4 in the other vehicles..especially fuel system is one....

6.2 engine
:-DHello-The 6.2 is NOT derived from the 5,.4 , and also has 411 hp and 434 Ft.lbs. Torque on 87 octane fuel . It is a 2-valve engine with much wider bore spacing for the larger bore , and a much shorter stroke than the 5.4 engine . I don't know where you get your information , but it is incorrect in the first degree!

i got this on the raptor forum it was an article from ford saying the 6.2 is made from the 5.4. yes 6.2 is a 2 valve engine..i thought it was strange too.

Well...
I believe the 6.2 will be an awesome upgrade for the Raptor. The Raptor with the 6.2 will be stunning, absolutely stunning. I went with the 5.4 though. Offroad, you know what you have to do already? Put it in offroad mode aaaaannnnnddddddddddd TURN THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF!!!!
On dry pavement though, the 6.2 will be glorious. It'll pound the dog snot out of a 5.4. Think about it, low axle ration, super low first gear, locker, four wheel drive, it's gonna SCOOT! All that said and done, I love my Raptor. It's plenty fast, period. If it gets stolen, I'll order a 6.2. It's a good time to be a truck fan, Ford's BRINGIN' it!!! |
