Official December B.S. and Christmas stories thread.

Tell us your shopping night mares, what you saw at the Wal-Mart etc.

How is everybody doing?

Me I am fine just trying to all the kids present bought in time. Let me tell you it is hard to get the right game for them since I don't play those things. I think they should come with a gaming dictionary. LOL

Any body have any Black Friday horror stories?

During Christmas shopping you don't go to Wal-Mart here unless you want to get trampled to death or get into a Death Match over a toy. Thankfully there is Internet.

Hey, in my day video games were 8-bit and you could still see the squares that made up the characters(but boy did "we" love Legend of Zelda, Mega Man, and Mario Bros., and I've taken a little shine to the newer RPG games even though I didn't like them growing up).

Not this year due to the fact that we avoided Wal-Mart(see first answer above), now last year is a different story. Best Buy we didn't get there til after it had been open for a couple of hours and it helped that I was getting a TV, so I was able to go thru the quicker line. Home Depot wasn't crowded at all and we were there right when they opened, but boy did those shop vacs go quickly, thankfully I didn't need any of them. As for the final leg of the "journey", Sears, the ole ball and chain and my Niece went in there, I actually stayed out in the truck napping while listening to Christmas episodes of The Shadow.

I spent 'Black Friday' putting a heater core in a '97 F150. Guess I was making Christmas money while everybody else was spending it.

I put a heater core in a 90s mustang once. Never again, that last damn bolt in the back was a booger to get out.

I did one in my son's 2000 Dodge Ram when he had it, thank goodness he traded it. They say you get smarter with age, well that's for sure I aged about 10 years on that job!!!!

You know, it seems to me that I've heard that before, but I think I'm one of those exceptions that disproves it as I've seem to have gone in the other direction.

I did go to Wal-Mart on black Friday. But it was about 1100 am. Most of the traffic had died down by then.

I had to pick up some more towels and pillows for all the guests we had coming. My brother that was riding with me and said in his best manly voice:" I can't believe I am going to Wal-Mart on Black Friday!"
I told him:"The best part of it is you are going shopping for linens". LOL. It was hilarious at the time. He didn't agree.

Anyway we were in and out in less than 5 minutes. Luck I guess.

I don't have any shopping stories yet. I've been moving my stuff from Tn to La. I got in last night late with the last big load. I borrowed a friends Wells Cargo trailer for the job. It tows great. It has the torque axles instead of leaf springs so it rides good. My F250 really impressed me on these hauls. I've never used a better tow truck than it. The tranny works great in tow/haul. It got 12 mpg with over 10k behind it. Not bad considering 1/2 of the trip I cruised at 75 mph plus. Ford trucks rule.

I am glad the trip went good for you. I hate to see you go, just stop in from time to time to say hi. Remember you are always from Tn.
