replace bench seat with captains chairs
 

1994 Ford F350 crew cab SRW 7.3 idi turbo 285k......My wife hates long trips (because of the bench seat ) so I have been looking and bought a pair of captains chairs and center console out of a 1993 F250 supercab.
Now I gotta figure out how to install them. Question is will it bolt right in - do the extra holes required for the captains chairs and console (3 separate pieces) already exist under the carpeting?

Take the original seat out and take a look under the carpet to be sure. I think it should be easier than falling off a log, but can never be too sure. I think all the holes and attachment points are already there.:-jammin

i have never looked under the seat of a benchseat mount but i have the 3 piece setup in my 96 and the bracket seems to be one piece from one side to the other. if there is no such bracket either on the old seat or the new one you will have to get one. i replaced the foam on the drivers side bottom last week. there was 4 bolts holding the driverseat down. the bolts went into the seat from the bottom of the bracket. pretty easy. foam from the front bucketseats on about a 98 windstar fit my seat perfectly btw if your is worn.

I have replaced bench seats before with the buckets and counsel. You find them in 3 separate pieces, and you can also find them on one frame that bolts in using the 4 bolts from the bench seats. I do know that when you find them on one frame it is an easy replacement. One of them that I had did not have the extra bolt holes in the floor for the 3 separate pieces, they would have had to have been drilled. So I sold tat setup to my brother, and bought one that was on one frame. Lots easier.

He drilled the holes and now has power buckets with a counsel in his XL F150 300 6cyl powered work truck,...:-X10

Supercab seat brackets are different then crew cabs/ reg cab. You will have to modify the brackets a lil bit

As noted above, crew & reg. cab mounts for the captain's chairs will require a bit of work. It is best to remove the carpet or mat to have the best access to the floor pan. Set the new seats on the bare floor and mark the location for your mounting bolts. There may already be dimples in the proper locations. If not, take special care to fine tune the locations you will be drilling to make sure you are catching the reinforced areas of the floor. It is also advisable to use heavy or double fender washers to properly secure your seats for safety. Also, consider using the inboard seat belt sections from a Bronco or supercab that had the captain's chairs: They have rigid plastic cases that hold the buckle/latch in position.

When you are all done, long distance traveling will be much more enjoyable!
