76 f-250 highboy steering conversion

I want to convert my 76 f-250 highboy steering to a newer 79 f-250 steering box, is there anything I need to know before I start?

Just that there is some front crossmember modification to be done in order to mount the gearbox and possible notching of the core support a little bit. The power steering pump pulley comes close to the gearbox, but does not hit.

Ibeling repair is a small shop in Iowa. This guy is just a farmer that really loves Ford trucks. He does these steering conversions in his spare time. He doesn't even have a web site. His number is (319) 347-2491. The basic kit is About $600 and no cores are needed. I chose a few upgradesso mine was closer to $900 but ordered the 1 ton stuff and an extreme duty steering u joint. Give him a call and explain what you have and what you're trying to do and he'll set you up.

oh yeah, there is a SMALL amount of welding required but it's no big deal
