rear dvd player problems

there is a disc stuck on the rear dvd. the screen says bad disc and wont eject. how do i get it out?

MyViewGS 10-25-2009 10:04 AM

Mine is aftermarket and im sure it differs from yours but ...... try (with a helper) disconnecting its power supply then while pressing the eject button re-connect the power. If that doesnt work look for a "pin hole" near the DVD drive access door. Unfold a paperclip and insert into the hole GENTLY. The hole is a DVD drive latch release access BUT it can be very easy to damage the DVD drive and or its door latch assembly by trying this. The safe way is to take it to a tech.

Hey, I have a 2008 Exp and having DVD probs also. I do not have a listing for the Family Entertainment System (FES) fuse........which one is it? Where? What else would it be listed under? Thanks for any help!

Fuse #3. Send me a PM and I will email you the diagram.

Klute 02-22-2010 06:59 PM

I wasn't anywhere close to fuse #3. I checked 2 small fuses (#28 & 3?)both listed as radio under dash and then a cartridge fuse (big #) under the hood....the book listed it as rear control module. I need some diagrams cause I am going thru serious Sirius withdrawal!!! Ouch, sorry, my attempt at humor. My e-mail is linloo22003@yahoo.com......thanks so much :)

Thanks, will try to figure it all out tomorrow and let you know how I made out. Sure has me bewildered!!!!! Since all was fine one minute then poof....nada.

Klute 02-23-2010 12:03 PM

That's all it took! The #3 fuse....thanks so much, saved me tons of money and aggravation I'm sure!

Thanks, mine was the same way was working perfect then my son decided to change disc and it won't come out. Now it won't play or eject. It also comes on and tries to eject even with the car off, in fact it has killed the battery twice.

hi, I have a 2007 expedition EL and have the same problem with my rear dvd player. the disc is stuck inside and couldn't figure it out how to remove it because player is not responding with the eject button. I checked the fuse box already but wasn't sure which one is for the dvd player. Can you please also send me a copy of the fuse box diagram or electrical diagram? . Thank you very much. My email is ermin731@yahoo.ca

Disconnect the battery negative and all power to the truck is cut. No wiring diagrams needed...

2008 expedition dvd and sirius quit working

I have a 2008 expedition and suddenly the dvd player and sirius are not working...in reading thru some of the posts here it seems I may need to replace the #3 15 amp fuse...however, I can't find it! Does anyone have a diagram of where that particular fuse is located? thanks in advance!

RI-Matt 04-10-2012 08:01 PM

Passenger side lower kick panel. Remove trim panel cover, then remove fuse panel cover.

Fuse #3 is third one down from the upper left corner.

p.s. It's in the owners manual page #304-305
