Ummm... I think I was there that day, Dennis...Was that Thursday??? I am there so often I can't remember the days!
Were you there, buddy? Musta saw my rig in the parking lot?
Sorry I missed your ping! I wish I knew how to set up my email to receive all messages from Alberta forum...
We'll have to hook up some time if we are at the PYP again! I know what your truck looks like... Mine has a white canopy on it now.

I saw a Torino sitting at the first parking spot north of the main gate.

This is my car. I haven't had it out yet since I brought it home. What year did you see? It is funny that I was there that same day, but I was in my truck. What year is your Le Sabre? Color? I will look for it next time!

Did you find a trailer to use yet?

I found one for sale just 1/2 block north of the Odgen Legion west side of the road.
You never no he just might rent it cheap, for one use.

In my last reply: <This is my car. I haven't had it out yet since I <brought it home.

So, it is actually here, in my garage! I emailed a buddy in Alabama for car measurements, and another fellow told me he hauled his 1972 full frame (heavy!) Gran Torino on U-Haul's Auto Transport trailer.
So, I figured if it would hold one of those big cars, it should definately fit my 1971 unibody Torino. (The book at UHaul doesn't list Torinos older than 75)
I went up North and picked up the car trailer in Edmonton, and continued on another couple hours to where my car was. I spent the afternoon changing oil, installing a new fuel pump, and checking it all over before starting. It fired up like a banshee! Even the choke and kickdown functioned perfectly. I hadn't started it in years! I think it helped to have fresh premium gas in there. (it needed 103 octane in 1971). The tires on the driver side were both flat and looked to be split open. After inflating with my air compressor, they held air, and are still holding now! Amazing stuff.
Drove it around the yard a bit before loading onto trailer. Trip went great, except my 76 seemed to be leaking oil from somewhere. Pulling at 70 mph probably didn't help it much, but there was a fair bit of oil under the truck that I can't explain.
Anyhow, my project is with me, once again, and now I am moving to SW beginning October, so no more dismantling for now. It will have a new home in another garage.
This link will show you more photos of the car, all recent!

What day did you return to Calgary with it?

I saw a few trucks pulling trailer's with cars on them.
Michelle always says this now: " Ford Truck & it's working!"

Where in the SW are you moving?

I got back in town the same weekend as the NHRA nationals at Race City. I saw a lot of cars on trailers that day when I pulled into the city limits!
I will be moving into Braeside, on Brookpark Road. I noticed my new neighbor has two 78 trucks, one with duallies, both with campers on, and about a 1974 Mercury fullsize (Montcalm?)in mint condition: All in his driveway. I like the fact that I will have a nice, long driveway to put my vehicles on. Right now we have our Nissan car, my two trucks, and my Torino to park. It is tough on this little parking pad. The Torino is in the garage with all my tools, so it is kinda tight in there... My 76 work truck (460) and Nissan (wife's car) are on the driveway, with my 78 ex-work truck on the street in front of the house. They don't give you much space in McKenzie! No alley, either.
