'73-'79 with Dually fenders?
 

I was thinking of modifying my '76 by converting to DRW, but I want to keep my truck bed. Have any of you seen or done such a conversion? I'm trying to figure out a way to fab up some dually fenders that would look good. I would love to see some pictures if such a mod has been done by someone.

There is a white dually 79 on ebay right now. Just search 1979 ford to see it

If you click on my profile name I have a picture album entitled 73-79 Ford Dually, that has a couple of pictures of duallies that have the stock bed.

Ford did not offer a DRW pickup until 1980, and then only as an F350.

All previous DRW's (all F350's) were sold as a Cab & Chassis, or with a flatbed or stake bed.

hence the reason i said i was trying to figure out how to fabricate a set.

that '79 on ebay looks pretty good.

guys they did have a conversion kit for the F-350 camper specials and the F-250's one could "bolt on" the fender extensions and the rims. not sure in the sheet metal department what went on hacking up the panel or not?

for a "factory look" i am going to use a set of front f600 fenders, and cut them in half, using a left and right put together to make one rear. having them on the front i want matching rears. look up mill supply as they offer the fenders new. they are also thicker steel than the cab and bed, making them easier to weld.

the part that extends down below the rocker panel simply unbolts, here is a website where they were made for a 67-72 truck:

i have hand made dually fenders on my truck. if you want to buy aftermarket fenders a company called arrowcraft used to sell them.they run advertisments in the back of fourwheeler magazine. most the fenders you will see on dually convertions run the arrowcraft fenders.

that is a fantastic idea, i will have to remember that if i ever want a drw. just out of curiosity, how did you come up with that?

If you were closer, I could take you to an abandoned F-250/350 ? dually. I was thinking about cutting off the guttering that is rusted on my '79 F-350 and replacing it with the metal from that truck. It is just North of Lovington on the road to Tatum. An abandoned mobile with the truck sitting there.

I took one look at the bronco, and immediately wanted to make dually fenders that match the front f600 fenders. It was easy to make the connection for me as its all i think about most days. Then an other guy on here made the suggestion, then another guy gave the link to this website where someone already did it.
Best part is that it is a factory ford flare!

I'm doing a dually conversion myself but I'm using 1st gen Dodge fenders. They're more like a flare and don't stick up or out as far. I've seen the arrowcraft 1's and the just look out of place to me but I'm also making mine a swb CC dually

also anyone ever take the flareside fenders and simply narrow them? if they where narrowed they wouldn't over hang as much, they would work as a flare for a dually truck,

on that note, why not use a flarside bed on a dually? simply stretch the rear fenders wider, i haven't seen that done before, anyone do that? i think it would actually look good,
