best leveling kit's
 

What is the best 2in leveling kit for my 2x4 09 f150 supercab..and whear to buy it..
Found lots of different ones on e-bay ready lift 175 bucks to Hell bent for 69 bucks..

by far ebay is the best place to get leveling kits look for autospring and hell bent

Autospring was the first, and the best in my opinion. EVERYONE else who manufactures that style are imitators of the original (and some are imported.... F that.) Autosprings are made here in the states!.

i like my daystar 2in kit. picked it up for $230. daystar had been around for a while also. i have also used the procomp kit on my 05 and i prefer the daystar. we just put a daystar kit on my buddies 07 4x4 a couple weeks back.

Daystar is a whole different concept when it comes to leveling a truck. Guess now is a good a time as any to give the op all the info:


There are two styles of leveling kits: those that sit on top of the spring and just space the entire assembly down (like the Autospring), and those that must physically be inserted into the spring assembly top (like the Daystar).

Autospring style: All metal construction. Do not have to touch the spring at all, and can be installed with simple tools. Unbolt the entire shock/spring assembly... bolt the other unit up, and reinstall (a GROSS understatement of the actual install). The stock spring rate is intact, you have just moved the assembly downward, which articulates the entire suspension upward:

Daystar style: Polyurethane. Physically installs between upper and spring. You need a spring compressor to install this, as it sandwiches into the assembly. This sandwich actually changes the spring rate (compresses it... so the spring is always under load). This can change the ride characteristics, as the springs are progressively wound from the factory. Being poly, over time it can develop squeaks, and if you are in harsh environments (snow, etc) poly degradation is a very distinct possibility.

You have a heavy truck, with a lot of work being done in it... for my money, no way am I putting a piece of polyurethane into the suspension, when everything else is metal construction. It becomes a weak link. It is also harder to install, and as I see it... not as good since it changes the spring rate.

wrong, my daystar kit mounts on top of the housing just like the autospring kit. they have different styles. but the procomp kit i had on my 05 went in the spring like your talking about

Daystar was the first to enter the Leveling Kit market in 1995. Though there have been many companies that have entered the market since, Daystar's Leveling Kits offer many advantages that the others can not claim:

i posted saying i bought mine for $230, i made a mistake, it was supposed to be $130

This debate is great because my 70 year old grandfather-in-law blew me out of the water yesterday when he just brought his new 09 King Ranch home and said "this is the best pickup I have ever driven, now what can we do about the back end sitting so high?" I didn't expect that my 70 year old grandfather-in-law would be inquiring about leveling a truck out in a million years. I have daystar spacers on my current 06 250 and love them. Keep the debate raging guys. This is one heck of a truck! Kudos to Ford.

So, I recently got my truck and I've been waiting to see if i really want a leveling kit and well i do. but i have no idea of what i should get. I would like to be able to do it myself cause i dont want to have to pay someone to put it in but if the autospring is better than i will. well if yall could just tell me the basics that i need to know so i can further my research. thanks

I have the Autospring kit. I paid $80 on ebay. No problems here and I wheel the hell out of it.

They're 4+ times the cost of the AutoSping kits, but I like the Bilstein leveling shock kits. It's on my want list for when the money tree blooms this summer.

I want to level my FX4 F150 but by lower the rear end. Can this be done easily?
