October meet anyone?

We had a great meet for September. Now does anyone have any ideas for an October meet?

A restaurant, car show, picnic in a backyard???? No meet at all?

As we hope to have a new Chapter Leader by then, it would be nice to greet him/her with a rousing turnout!

Looking for ideas, times and places...... post 'em up! :-X25

DRangerMike 09-14-2009 02:53 PM

Well whatever time but nooo sundays. I missed my cowboys game for the meet ha. I am sure plenty of others did not come because they did not want to miss the games. If someone was good at grilling I think that would be a nice meet. Everyone bring something to eat or drink and then everyone maybe help out buy hamburgers, hotdogs whatever else. That way we do not have to worry about interrupting others if we wish to take pictures or anything else.

BPofMD 09-14-2009 03:06 PM

OK...how far would we all be willing to travel for a backyard B-B-Q? On a Saturday? Anyone into COLLEGE football?

DRangerMike 09-14-2009 03:15 PM

Id be willing to travel an hour to an hour an a half. An go UMD, but I dont watch the games so guess I aint in to it that much :D

BPofMD 09-14-2009 03:18 PM

jr32560 09-14-2009 04:45 PM

BPofMD 09-14-2009 04:56 PM

hey maybe we could have it here -it's not the most humble of abodes -that is for sure:)
dang now I'll have to clean up more :) might take till November for that :-missingt
maybe I'll check with the park or something so it's a better environment -less cats and junk cars }> I'll check this week!

BPofMD 09-14-2009 05:02 PM

We could just park at the prison????

jr32560 09-14-2009 05:08 PM

wow way to scare off any potential shower uppers there Bud :-missingt
}> now that would be cute :) well I think the walk around box is leaving this week! so that opens up a few spots :) just figured maybe a better scenic thing at one of the parks-and you wouldn't have to fight off so many cats to eat the burger :)
but here is fine -I can blacken a burger like no other :)

DRangerMike 09-14-2009 09:15 PM

Prison sounds good.... not really. Ha. Cookout definately is sounding like an good idea then down the road maybe try to go to a game everyone likes college football, baseball, nfl anything. For me I would sat lets all go bowling be fun. }> Or we could meet at an drag track around here somewhere and watch a race or fridays at capital they have test and tune. Put everyones trucks in an just race the night away }>}>. I am bored an throwing random things out haha.

if it won't too awful late Bud would like the races probably :) he loves doing burn outs }> I think my truck leaks oil too bad for the track :(
I could go and watch :)

DRangerMike 09-14-2009 09:31 PM

I could legally do a one tire burn out thats right! Ha. Even though I might just ride with someone to feel how it is to actually go fast.

DRangerMike 09-14-2009 09:34 PM

And I leave the track around nine. Maybe little earlier. Many drinks down and they dont make a good combo with them people so I watch the good races an roll out ha.

When I hosted a GTG for another club, I had it at state park with no admission at one of the picnic areas. Turned out great for pics and gave people with familys something else to do. I even had 1 guy from PA rent a cabin for the weekend. I know I'm not a Md. member, just tossing a idea.

racsantina 09-16-2009 12:33 PM

Depending on how far everyone is willing to travel we could meet here at my place. I've got a grill and lots of parking. Just a thought. Don't worry my feeling won't be hurt if it's too far for most

jr32560 09-16-2009 05:32 PM

well we seem to have lots of ideas and possible places :)
Tina how far from the bay bridge are ya? I'm lost on trappe?

racsantina 09-16-2009 06:18 PM

Trappe is 1/2 way between Easton and Cambridge. Roughly 40 minutes from the Bridge. We've got 2 1/2 acres and a big circular driveway so like I said, plenty of parking. Just thought I'd throw it out there, but I won't be hurt if its too far for you guys who haven't been blessed to live on the Right side of the Bay :-innocent

DRangerMike 09-16-2009 08:12 PM

I would be fine with it being at trappe. Would be needing a GPS but pretty small area played baseball once there. I did not think it was fourty more like thirty but I drive fast }>

dustybumpers 09-17-2009 05:02 AM

finding trappe no problem. go through easton, and as soon as you get to the "speed awareness zone", go 6 miles , your there.

BPofMD 09-17-2009 09:22 AM

...and 3 miles of that IS the "speed awareness zone". Weird, as I've NEVER seen a cop there!

racsantina 09-17-2009 10:26 AM

They usually hide right at one of the side streets as soon as the zone starts and ends

66fdtrucknut 09-17-2009 07:02 PM

jr32560 09-21-2009 03:32 PM

okay guys called the parks and recs here in Calvert county - for October here in Calvert they have Howling point park. a
pavilion has a 75 person capacity -grills e.t.c-no blatant alcohol use-they have open at this point-the 18th- 25th- 31st--and November 7th -there is no charge and I assured them no burnouts e.t.c! so the dates are there lets make up some plans-I did tell em I'd make a small donation for the use of it-these are the dates they have open now -so we need to make a date so we can reserve the spot :)

jr32560 09-21-2009 03:38 PM

the actual address is 4755 Hallowing point road Md 20678
if ya want to map quest it and check things out
and Tina has offered her place so post up some ideas :)

BPofMD 09-21-2009 06:31 PM

What is average temp in Calvert County in October?? Is the Pavilion and OPEN or enclosed one?

you know I'm not sure on either fact-I can go down there tomorrow and look at it-as far as I know it's open or so it seemed when I spoke to the guy on phone? the guys on site said it would hold about 40 or 50 folks -and said it was a gazebo style-parks and recs. said it holds 75?where would I go to check average temps for this area weatherbud? }>

BPofMD 09-21-2009 06:48 PM

I started to look and couldn't find it.... guess I'll have to intensify the search.....TOMORROW~!

jr32560 09-21-2009 07:35 PM

we gonna have to get cracking on this if it's gonna happen :) so Maryland folks post up!
we are waiting for ideas :)

BPofMD 09-21-2009 09:08 PM

You seem to forget...we only have 3 active members and maybe 3-5 more that post sometimes.....

Here's a thought....we've never had a meet just NORTH of Baltimore....anyone that way that may be interested?

That_Guy 09-21-2009 10:01 PM

I can probably make anything as long as its not the weekend of the 25th.

DRangerMike 09-22-2009 09:42 AM

I think we got more then three active members. Also pretty much any place would work fine for me and any weekend. Just no sunday. :D. Calvert sounded great. If we were to have it north of Baltimore would we try to find a pavillion somewhere or try to hold it at someones house?

BPofMD 09-22-2009 10:04 AM

So it looks like it'll be the 18th, if any, as Halloween is the 31st. I know Penny won't come then..... and if she don't, I don't.

Anyone got problems with Oct 18th? If not, Jr will be reserving that date......

Hopefully, we'll have a good turnout.

Next one will have to be somewhere here in the North......if still winter, maybe a nice eating place?

DRangerMike 09-22-2009 10:29 AM

Only thing about the eighteenth is football. How many will not show because they are watching the games?

BPofMD 09-22-2009 10:48 AM

There were no Saturday's open for the Park, except the 31st.

DRangerMike 09-22-2009 10:53 AM

Ah alright. Well that sucks. I am sure it will still be a good turnout. Last one was an that was opening day for football.
