Gang... the image uploading system is not for posting your GIF of the day, a photo in each and every post, a dozen copies of the same image, etc. It is to all you to add small images to your signature, for avatars, illustrating things for other users, etc. It has been subject to abuse by a few of the users who seem to regard FTE as public image storage.

If its abused it will be removed. I'm putting in code to monitor this. Also, I highly recommend you use the User Gallery for images, the upload feature of the boards will soon go away and be replaced with a hot link to your Gallery upload page.

Ken, I am guilty. You can remove the following post from the "Events and Happenings" forum:

"Photos from 100 years of Ford racing celebration"
09-Nov-01, 01:14 PM (EST)

I posted about 8 photos there that really should be in a gallery or my website. Wasn't trying to be abusive of space, but shouldv'e known better.

Thanks, Tall Paul

I wasn't pointing out any individual in particular. The problem with the upload feature in the bbs is there is no way to know which photos aren't being linked to, which are duplicates, etc. Its a big mess from an administrative point of view so I dumped the feature last night. I added a feature to the User Gallery that will allow you to "hide" an album from the gallery listing. You can use such albums for avatars, message board postings, etc.

Thanks, I know you weren't singling me out, but that it is a general thing, but did think that my one post was excessive.

Hm, I noticed you specifically said: "To illustrate things to other users", and I just checked on a post of mine at "Suspension, Tires, and Wheels".

Those pics are still there, so I assume that was a valid post.

I will try to skinny down the images where I use them, or to confine them as much as possible to my member page, because I can well understand the bandwidth issues graphics bring on.

Either way, I hope I have been doing a good job as a contributor, and will continue to offer my best.
