Front Brakes 2004 F350 Dually

Hey there,

Money's tight and we need front brakes and rotors on our 2004 F350 and so I decided to do it myself to minimize the cost. I went to the local Advance Auto store after going on their website to figure out which pads and rotors I needed. There were (at least) three different rotor sizes listed. I took one of the front wheels off and measured the diameter on mine - 13", so I *think* I got the right ones. The counter guy at the place wasn't all that reassuring. I guess they can't know everything about all vehicles.

I have a few questions though.

I looked at the very detailed step-by-step that somebody posted for changing pads/rotors and that looks helpful. Upon pulling off my wheel I see that there are additional nuts that look like they need to come off to get to the rotor piece. My assumption is that after removing that assembly, the rotor is mounted on the studs and can be removed, the new rotor put back on and the whole thing reassembled.

I wanted to take a picture or two to illustrate what I'm asking but the digital camera needed charging. Oh well.

I searched around on the site and found a little info but not exactly what I was looking for - perhaps I missed it.

If anyone has any info or can clarify things for me, I'd much appreciated it.

Thanks,
Matt
