The red truck appears to be a 1961 F100 Uni-body and should come with a Ford 9in. rear.

Welcome to FTE

The 9" rear axle used in 1957/86 F100's is a larger version of the 8" rear axle used in Mustangs. They look very similar.

1959/67 F100: If Limited Slip was ordered, these truck have a Spicer-Dana 44 rear axle which has an inspection cover at the rear of the housing.

The VIN will be stamped on the top of the right (passenger) side frame rail just in front of or partially under the cab.

The VIN will also be found on the Warranty Plate which is located on trucks of this vintage, on the inside of the glove box door.

However, I do not see it on the glove box door in the above pic. It's either missing, or the truck is a 1963.

1963 and later: The Warranty Plate is located on the face of the left front door below the latch.

While the grille is a 1961, any 1961/66 grille will bolt right in. Uni-Body Styleside pickups were made from 1961 thru midyear 1963.

That truck is currently listed on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...fCarsQ5fTrucks

It has Volare front suspension.

does it have the solid front axle and do you want a classic look and feel or a new feel with old skin?
