On the right front of the choke horn are a bunch of numbers. Holley numbers.
I can't tell from the pictures, but those numbers, is there a Ford part number there? Should be DnTE-nnnnn-xx, might start with D9TE (D9 is 1979, since you said in another thread it's a 1979 engine?) That big diaphragm thing on the right side is the governor. FIRST though. With fuel in the carb, pump the throttle. Any gas coming from the accelerator pump? |
F700 Holley carb D8TE-9610-BZA
I am getting ready for a long road trip and was wanting to get this carb to help. Last time I started it the motor would hardly run. No power and had to keep pumping the gas to keep it running. Couldn't even move it 20 ft. So I need some hep here!
The list # is 8174 but can find no love on the internet to get a line on a kit. Cleaned out the primary bowl and it had some red looking like coating like rust but maybe from the old fuel tank. It's been sitting a while. Also there is a governor on the starboard side of the carb that don't feel is really needed. Were they put on to keep the novice drivers from over reeving the motor? Can't see a reason to t not take it off. Anyone got an opinion on that? |
