1st engine oil change, torque & washer?

I know the oil filter will be tight as heck to get off. I also have a 2008 mustang w/ the 4.6, so I have experience with these filters.

The Mustang has no oil drain plug gasket/crush washer. In doing a search for the torque settings for the drain plug I came across a drain plug gasket from Rockauto.comm. Does my Expy have a oil drain plug gasket/crush washer, or is it set up the same as the Mustangs plug?

Last, whats the torque for the drain plug?

Thanks

My last 3 Fords have all had a rubber gasket that was part of the drain plug. None of them called for a gasket outside of that. As far as torque, I've always been a "snug it up and a pinch more" type guy with drain plugs. I can't even tell you how many hundreds or thousands I have done and I've never torqued one. No comebacks either. :)

Take it to the dealer. I know that my first oil change was included in my purchase.

Well, I found the torque setting for the Mustang 4.0, 4.6, 5.4 drain plugs and they are all 19 lbs/ft. So I would bet that is a good place to start for the Expy.
