very nice, is the dirt track calling

ChaseTruck754 05-31-2009 11:16 PM

Cool truck, but your original post sounds like a for sale add. You selling the thing?

This build is kind of like a mild version of what my 74 supercab will be and looks good so far!

By the way - for your front fiberglass have a look at Home. His front kit costs about the same as John's stuff but looks cooler IMO.

What color are you gonna paint truck? Looks cool.

ChaseTruck754 06-01-2009 11:33 AM

dang - my link above shows as just "home". It still works, but people might miss it as it kind of blends in now.

It is www DOT flared-fenders DOT com just in case.

Fordester 06-01-2009 01:49 PM

Yeah, it was for sale and I copyed and pasted and didn't edit the first post well, but thanks for the complements and info on the front fenders. : D

ChaseTruck754 06-01-2009 01:56 PM

WAS for sale or IS for sale?

If still selling - how much and can you list all the autofab parts you have on it?

Fordester 06-01-2009 06:33 PM

It is still for sale, price is $5,900 obo, as far as autofab parts it has the hight travel front end from there with 16" of travel and the bed-sides, that it from auto-fab. I have spent over 20k putting the truck together with parts and fab costs, 3k in shocks along, it is currently registered and I just drove in today as a matter of fact, the engine only has 75k on it from factory so it doesn't have hardend valve seats but I added a quart of Z-maxx to the oil, It run great and theres no blow-by and no smoke from the exhaust, looking to get a house is why I'm selling it,If you have anymore questions just ask.

Fordester 06-01-2009 06:36 PM

I was going to paint it metallic charcole gray, maybe a two tone gray and white top if I don't sell it.

ChaseTruck754 06-01-2009 06:37 PM

Good luck with the sale. You might want to throw it on www.race-dezert.com or www.dezertrangers.com for some exposure.

I'm not sure you'll get $5900 with how many people are dumping trucks right now but it's worth a shot.

As for $3k in shocks - how with 2.0's? I got that much in my shocks but I have 3.0" 2 tube bypasses and 2.5" coil overs for each corner...

Fordester 06-01-2009 06:45 PM

I paided $500 for two 9100's from ORU and it has four 7100 up front, I have the reciept to show that, no lie. What do you feel it worth, please make an offer...

Fordester 06-01-2009 06:55 PM

I stand corrected, I spent $550 for each 9100, so $1,100 for the rears and $199 for the 7100's up front x4 $799 so thats a total of $1,900, my bad, sorry for the mis info guys...

ChaseTruck754 06-01-2009 07:01 PM

I'm not looking to buy one as I just bought a stock '74 supercab 2wd to build. I thought about buying a "built" truck, but I'm so picky about my fab and how I want things done that I would probably cut 1/2 the tube work off anything I bought and start over anyways. Therefore it's smarter (and cheaper) for me to build from scratch.

I asked price to see where you were at. I may have mis-spoken when I said you were high price wise. Run it at that and see what you can get. For a running, smog exemt truck with a full cage you might get that price.

Here's a couple trucks that would be your competition. Well - if you live in So. Cal. Which reminds me - where are you/the truck located?

Old School

also - the brown 68 truck 1/2 way down page 47 here was for sale for $4500 for a long time (3 months or more). It had a supposed race built 351m (boat anchor) and some nice parts
Desert Rides • View topic - Old skool ford guys!

This truck is another level, but it still seems a bit overpriced

No problem - it just seemed like a lot for 2.0" shocks.

In all honesty 90% of people couldn't get all the shocks I had listed for my $3k price either.
My 3.0's are normally $1100+ EACH new, but I got the 1st PAIR for $750 (need a rebuild) and the 2nd PAIR for $900 (new/never mounted)
