What'cha up to tonight? A bit of off roading?

I just bought a '94 mustang and am waiting for it to be delivered tomorrow. I really don't like waiting}>

Waiting sux.....

Gonna be able to make it up to the diesel drags in Fallon on the 30th Jeff?

jarod17 05-04-2009 04:30 PM

Yea. Got the car in and now I am going after a motor wednesday. I am thinking about getting a 3.8 out of an early '90s T-bird SC.

So far it is a go for Fallon. Still waiting for Vacation approval though.

racerchick21 05-05-2009 08:49 AM

Yay! I'm thinking worst case I can fly in Saturday morning.

Right on - Still don't know what Gail and I will be doing for accommodations. We were going to rent a trailer from Sierra RV over in Reno but they aren't open for returns on Sundays, so it's probably going to be Motel time.

jarod17 05-05-2009 06:12 PM

For me it is tent and sleeping bag weather. Still need to find a place to camp though.

william_04_x 05-05-2009 06:54 PM

it's getting pretty close..have you checked out any of the hotels yet Steve?

SteveBricks 05-05-2009 07:03 PM

No, I haven't. Guess I should get on it. It's gonna be a shot in the dark though, unless I can get a recommendation from someone I trust.

jarod17 05-11-2009 01:52 AM

I'm still waiting on vacation authorization. Looking forward to it.

What type of hotel are you looking for? The Holiday Inn Express is the nicest one in town. If you want an authentic old west experience, the Overland is the place. I would stay away from any of the other locally owned outfits, but there's also many chains that are, well, average I guess, Motel 6, Super 8, Comfort Inn, Best Western, etc. If you've stayed in one before they're pretty consistent with what you'd expect anywhere. Motel 6 is technically closest to the track, being on the south end of town, but it's still 12 miles out.

You can camp in the pits at Top Gun, I'm just not sure if they open it up Friday night or Saturday morning. If you're looking to stay in an RV park I would recommend the Fallon RV park over the other one.
