88 150 Won't Start
 

Hi folks, I am new to the forum, glad to be here. I have an 88 150 XL, that cranks but won't start. It has EFI, and 4.9 liter auto, no air. It cranks hard but just won't turn over, I am new to repair, so any help would be appreciated.

After cranking it over for a lil pull a plug and see if you can smell gas on it? If no gas pull the fuel line going into the intak and crank with the line in a drip pan or bucket see if you get fuel? Once your sure you have fuel its time to check spark. With the plug out and grounded crank the engine and see if you got spark its easier to get a spark tester. Spark and fuel she should run unless you have a timing issues.
