Early Lightnings

:-X25 Hi all, have been hanging around and putting my 2 bits worth in occaisionally. Have a ? for those in the know. With the early lightnings (meaning pre supercharged) what were some of the components that increased the performance of these trucks?
I presently have a '91 f150 supercab with the 5.8 in it and the engine is starting to get a bit tired. Would like to find a real lightning but this truck is paid for and owes me nothing. If someone would tell me what the differences were or tell me where i can find this info, i would appreciate it and maybe start collecting the parts needed to build the engine to lightning specs.
Great board and source of info. Thanks all
Later pops :-tap :-huh 8D

Well here's some differences;

GT-40 cast iron heads
GT-40 upper and lower intake
Shorty headers
65 mm single blade throttle body
high torque camshaft (non roller)
Different pistons??
Specially calibrated computer
Specially calibrated E4OD auto trans.
Aluminum driveshaft
4:10 traction lock in a Lightning specific differential housing.
Not to mention the suspension, interior and body enhancements.
