Both trucks are slow--The crew is actually at a stand still. Ever since we started with the racing truck, that is where all my time and money was spent last year.
But, like the new year, hope springs eternal for both trucks.

The Crew--This year I hope to finish the interior and add exaust and wheels/tires--This will finish it up. I have a buddy with a 55 Chevy truck, and we would like to run them together to the show in Biloxi Ms. this summer.

The race truck--We bent 9 of 16 valves in the next to last race last year. Broke the pin holding the cam gear on. Rebuilt the top end again, and installed Rhoads lifters to bring up our vacuum. In the last race of the year, we lost compression on the number 7 cylinder--don't know why until we tear it down. We will start that this weekend. We were also told that we need an underdrive crank pulley for the power steering, and we found out why in that same race--6000 rpms is too much pressure for the sector, and we blew all the seals out. So for the next month or so, we will fix the engine, add an underdrive pulley, repair the power steering sector, build a new front grille and bumper, and we will be ready to race again!!!

Don't ya just love them old Fords?

Todd, I love the header covers!! And I thought I saw your red and white truck the other day on Forsythe over by Taylor rental.

Todds79 01-09-2009 05:55 PM

It probably was me, had a checkup following a tooth implant--ouch! Although there are a couple more red and whites running around in the area.
