machine shops

allright then . all you who live around these parts may be able to help me out . i may be looking to have some machine work done , and going by what i've read and learned , and been told our beloved flatties even require a knowledgable person to machine them . well i was wondering if you know of any one here in the middle of this corn field called illinois in our area ???? those of you from here will know the following , i will not take it to wilkersons shop as the quality of work i have seen come out of there as of late is horrendous !! i know of one fella they screwed up his flatty by running a stud down to far .... then told him the block was cracked . browns seems to know his stuff , but he's fighting cancer and is gone for long periods to do what he should , take care of himself ! so any suggestions ?????????:-innocent

Kevin - Let me do some asking around. As I recall there's a small shop on the east side but I don't remember the guy's name. I'll get back to you on it. Stu

You might search on the FordBarn, or on the Early Ford V8 Club pages.

One of my buddies used to run a repair shop in Spfld and will know the guy's name and number. He's in Chgo for the weekend having Christmas with his kids so I'll talk to him tomorrow and PM you. Stu
