Bio Taxation?
Hi all,
Once these prices go back up, I want to build an "appleseed" style reactor to start making biodiesel. Does anyone have any ideas of how much/ how to pay/avoid taxation on biodiesel, specifically in NJ? Thanks, Jack |
in NC you can run 1600 gal a year tax free or 5% dino. this is for the homebrewer but the commercial users are about forced to pay a fuel bond to insure taxes are paid. I know this does you no good but a lot of states are passing new legeslation about taxes on alternative fuels that make it easier on us homebrewers. there are also the people that are on the other side of the fence making things more difficult on us. long into short you may want to check withyour state gov..

I think it varies alot depending on where your from. In Illinois you dont have to pay tax unless you make over 30,000 gallons a year because you are then considered a company. But i dont think you have to every worry about getting in trouble for not paying taxes, unless you start telling the govt. The only way to tell is the smell, and who would stop you for smelling like french fries?
