The hunt for a 70s supercab

Well I am on the hunt for a 70s supercab. My last truck was a 73 f250 4x4 with a 390. I would like to find something similar but a supercab. Is there anything I should know about supercabs?

I do want a 4x4, I dont have much preference about the engine, I would like to find a good straight body and am willing to pay a little extra for a clean one this time around. My last one was a big project.

a 390 wouldn't have been a stock engine in a 4x4...it woulda been swapped
Your right, it was a 2wd truck that I converted.

This one is cool

Maybe my memory is failing, but I believe the only supercabs offered in a 4x4 configuration were in 78 and 79, of the 73-79 era. There have been plenty of swaps, and retrofits, as well as changing of the grilles from the 78-79 to something earlier, but I think the 4x4's were those two years only in the SC's.

As for engines, if it's a supercab 4x4, I'm pretty sure the biggest engine they offered was the 400. Most have since swapped in a 460, or whatever other plant preference they have, but the 400 was the biggest stock offering for those two years.

Maybe I'm just braindead.

First year for the Supercab was 1974.

He said he wanted a 4x4 supercab, and I'm pretty sure they weren't offered in that configuration in 73. I think 78 and 79 were it for the 4x4's.

1976 F250 4x2, 390 np435 clean, from New Mexico 200.

The 1979 is about to fall off the frame due to rust,
rear cab corners, front cab corners, floor pans, drip rails, b pillars, door thersholds and rear cab mounts are SHOT. The frame is rusty, the shocks fell off, and two of the rear cross members are gone due to rust. Fenders, doors, and bed have been replaced.
If you find one, Check out the frame and cab roof. Everything else is the same as a std cab.

Sorry for the thread hijack, but since this thread is here I might as well ask a question I have been wondering for a while, but never cared enough to post a new thread...

I am interested in building a 2wd Supercab, but really want a SHORT bed. I don't recall ever seeing a short bed supercab - were they made?
