Anyone making BioFuel? Cheap Fuel!
I have done a bit of research on this and the making of the fuel doesn't seem to off the beaten path. Were I work I have a decent amount of Veggie oil that I can get for free, at least 30 to 40 gallons a week. I already spoke to facilities and they are all for me to take it. I am happy with this supply because a limited amount of cooking in the oil is poultry and majority potato frying! Keeping the acids and fats down. I have looked on the internet and found a system that is complete with a $3,000 proce tag. Trying to keep this cheap, I am more along the line of making the system myself. I already located a majority of the parts necessary to make the system. With fuel being at $3.70 a gal, i can make this fuel for $1.00 a gal if not less and I figure any costs that I put out in parts to make the system, I will recoup back in a about 4 to 6 months. I guess my thoughts are, has anyone made a a system to make Biofuels? I love chemistry and the process doesn't seem that complicated at all. Any thoughts?

$3000? For what? I thought the filtering and simple treatment was just that, simple.

I made BioDiesel back around 2000. Stopped and went SVO. $3,000 for a setup? I don't have $3000 in everything I have!!!

Spending a decent amount of money you can build one for around $1200.
It can also be done for less also, much, much less. I think my first one we built it almost free. Just paid for the chemicals and minor items. |
i think you guys may be spending to much money, i make my own fuel for my f250, i may have spent around $200.00, on my pump and filtering system i built, but thin i'm trying to save money on fuel, not spend it. i read what jimandmandy said and he's right, my program is "KISS" keep it simple stupid. NO pund intended to any one.

alternative fuel systems
[quote=Stroked99;6624019]:-wink yes, you can make a cheap fuel, veg. oil is not it , the cost for the equipment needed is costly , the process isn't that hard to do but used oils is less costly. i just told another member how to do it, look for pappy2 in comments, easier and less expensive process. i have an f250 runs fine, no problems so far. " don't try,and you'll never find out" good luck
