1997 explorer 4.0 intake manifold gasket replacement?

If I buy the intake manifold gasket will I need other gaskets? I haave done some lite repairs in autos. I have read the manual on replacing the gasket. Can I get some tips or short cuts? TIA

You will need the upper and lower manifold gasket set and the rocker cover gaskets. Dont skimp or cheap out, you will end up doing it twice. Take care cleaning the joint surfaces, do not scratch or gouge.

Use good hi temp RTV on the block to intake joints. New thermostat and fluids.

Use a good inch lb torque wrench,

I found taking the front wheels off and setting the rotors down on 1/2" plywood, removing the hood made the job easy, very little over reach.

My neibours had a chuckle, said the truck looked like a kneeling elephant,

Finished the job 3hrs.

Ford parts dept. had a kit to do this at one time. 4yrs ago. It also had a new rod for something (I forgot what for) that you installed when you had the manifold off.
