towing performance
I'm in the process up upgrading my 1998 f-150 xlt 4.6 liter extended cab pickup to tow a trailer. The trailer weight is appox 3700 lbs. The following are the things I want to do. (1) suspension new rancho RS5000 SHOCKS (2) Transmission larger cooler and temp gauge (3) Exhaust after market dual (4) Engine cold air intake, throttle body spacer, hypertech chip. Has anyone done this to their truck and is this enough I like the truck and its paid for. Thanks CARLR:-blah

Sounds like a good mix, just make sure whatever programmer or chip you get can be used for towing- Some stress the engine to the point that they fail while under the constant stress of towing.

That is plenty of things, What is the trailer type? If it is a custom cargo trailer with a 10' top it will take more to pull than the flatbed. Also think BREAKS. I assume you are putting ina some type of system. The 4.6 litre is pretty tough although doggy it should do the trick.
