I got on there this morning...and was impressed, indeed!
Glad to see it - looks great - very professional and more importantly...cool. :D Dan |
is that the same system they put on a ford truck on truck universe on the speed channel .
|
It is the same system. Been running one on my 06 for 3 weeks now.
|
timbrady - do you have pics? or a write-up of your system?
Thanks! Dan |
looked like a pretty straight forward install and was impressed with how well the truck ran when they did the test drive.

I didn't take any pics of the install or do a write-up.
I used an extensive write-up of a 6.0 install, complete with lots of photos, that is posted on the DFA site. It was done by a guy named Marv and it is really excellent work. The instuctions from DFA are pretty good, but Marv has lots of good pictures of the entire job. The wiring portion of the job was where I used his pictures the most. The DFA instructions spell out which wires you tap into, but seeing a picture with a screwdriver pointing to the actual wire was reassuring. He also had some really good solutions for tools used to access the fuel ports on the back of the engine. The title of the post is My Vegistroke Install. Here is the post: My Vegistroke Install - Dino Fuel Alternatives Forum The system works exactly as described by the guys at DFA. I have about 1000 miles with the system so far and have had no problems. I did the install myself, using the write-up from Marv and called the DFA guys a couple of times. They were very helpful and responsive to my questions. With regards to the Truck U show, I think the only part that was really glossed over and oversimplified was getting the fuel lines to the back of the engine. For me, that was the hardest and most frustrating part of the install. It may have been easier for them since they had a lift and I did it lying on a creeper. Regardless of your position, the places you need to get your hands are very tight and difficult to reach. |
The site looks great! Makes me glad to be running WVO!
|
is it possible to get/buy a copy of that episode?
I have "Truck U" set to record on my DVR...but so far, no sign of that episode in sight...*shrug* Dan (hoping to join the WVO crowd soon!) |
Just type in Vegistroke on You tube and you will be in good shape!
