Glycerol.............
Another use for glycerol just popped up. Researcher converts biodiesel-waste glycerol into omega-3 fatty acids
How many more will be found??? |
i enjoy using it as a replacement for roundup (i buy the concentration ingredient from wilber-ellis, not the walmart stuff). as long as the price of roundup stays way up there, i will keep using it as such.

It works great on a dusty driveway also. it also seems to either kill or cause to relocate fire ants :)

Don, what is the easiest way to accelerate the process of settling the glycerol out of the bio?
|
That's something I'm working on now:) I think electrostatic separation is the way to go. I've done it in my lab, but I'm working on a continuous system. I'm still looking for a clear plastic tube about 4" X 4-6' long. Got one laying around you can send me???
If I can get this to work, I think you could run the "mix" right from the reactor straight into the electrostatic separator, then into separate tanks. Soon as I get moved I'll try and get a test set up made................ |
good deal! look forward to your findings!

Clear PVC Pipe and Fittings - Alsco Industrial Products Has the clear pipe you need. We use 3/4, 1, 1 1/2, and 2 inch. We use sch 80 and it holds up better than any other sch 80 you would normally buy. I don't recomend any PVC in bio production but this stuff is great. They make it up to ten in diameter I beleive.

Wow! $189 for 10' of 4" scd 40 pipe. I only need 4', and they only sell in 10' lengths............I'm going to have to think about that...............
