I am looking at the Alpine SPR-172A ($200 Canadian) rounds for the doors in my reg cab. Are these a good speaker? They are the best non-component setup in the 6 1/2 size that Alpine makes supposedly. specs: 2 way 150w/40w 40hz-30khz Or should I go to the component setup (SPR-175A) for $250 Canadian? specs: 2 way 200w/50w 35hz-35khz Is doing this worth the money? and extra pain to install the tweets? They are replacing 23 year old quality Pioneers that still sound as good as my 2 year old Sony 6x9's in the back! Thanks! 1978 F250 Ranger 4x4 - 351M |

Oh yeah,
I have a 25 watt (peak) Alpine head unit with CD (circa 1996). Great suspension (takes quite a bump to skip it, even in a stiff 3/4 ton) Would a higher rated speaker do me any good, when I am only putting out 15 watts RMS or so?? Some of the Rockford Fosgate speakers look pretty awesome FNQ1614 6-1/2" 4 ohms 45Hz-20kHz RMS / Peak Power 100 / 200 Watts Help! 1978 F250 Ranger 4x4 - 351M |
