hello from bournemouth
hey yo,
im from bournemouth uk, so i wanna know if there are any local-ish ford trucks i could consider for my first truck thanks a bundle! :-jammin |
Welcome to the site Alex!
There are a number of Brits on here that should be able to assist! |
Thanks Adrian I feel I've had a very warm welcome here.
This may sound a little sad but the only way i access the net for now is at my local library so if anyone wants to chat to me they'd probably have more luck calling or texting me on +447934663566 coooooooool.. |
Hi Alex, see you found your way to the International chapter!:)
|
I have indeed! Hope to meet some friends nearby.
I saw a nice blue Dayvan in Boscombe parked up next to a red Ford Ranger pick up not so long ago. If you are the owner of either of these do shout me! |
So how is the fuel costs in the UK
|
really really bad. i think at the moment we're paying £1.19 per litre petrol and £1.34 diesel. Its a real stinger if you don't have a steady income.. But i hear Mr Brown is going to lower our taxes to compensate (or so he says) so in theory all should be well..
|
Dang, that's over $9 US dollars a gallon for "petrol", correct?????
|
yeah thats about right
|
Don't you have any refinerys in the UK
|
Tax, George... They have a lot of Refinery's in the Baltic.
|
Yeah Adrian is right, it is the tax, we get stung by tax the worst as far as petrol is concerned but im not going to let that dictate what i drive!
i pulled into the petrol station once more to find another rise to £1.39 for a litre petrol and £1.95 for a litre diesel! not a happy bunny. |
Howdy Alex, and welcome to FTE.
and as George says "The Best of the Rest" I think. Man, I guess I can't complain or shouldn't anyway about our prices in MD however that's why I bought a motorcycle. Look forward to seeing you around the forums |
Diesel is going through the rafters here in the USA, but the price is no where as dear as it sounds like over there.
On one topic, I can't see how you all cope with it, but yet you have the cars and lorries designed for it. On the other hand - if it's on the rise in your part of the planet God help us all! I had not thought it could BE more expensive. Have people begun putting hitching posts in their front yards yet? The obvious other half being that anything that must be transported will now reflect the cost of the fuel to manage it. Food Goods Parts Service work Transportation in general (shipping) I bet postage stamps are on the rise too Etc... If it cost something in fuel to put a thing in your local shop, pub, or store - watch it cost more now 8D All I can say is thank GOD for the internet! As things are going at this point, the best way to go on vacation (holiday, as it is called in many places) is to cut a stave and wear good walking boots. Mark my words here well - the cost of fuel being what it is will bring back the Age of Sail! In a way, I think a modern version of it would be wonderful! Use the planet itself to deliver goods. Surely some way can be found. |
bike sales are through the roof !!
