Rear end axel for 1999 E350 same as 2002 F350?
 

Hi ,
I was wondering if anyone can help me. I need to know if a 2002
Ford F350 rear end axel (that slides in from back) is the same as a 1999 E350 Super Duty (4:10) rear end axel.

Don't think so...
 

Pretty sure the van rear axles are Dana's vs. Ford Sterling in the SD's.

Check for a metal tag on the diff. The manual lists Dana 60 & 80, Ford (Sterling) 8.8 & 9.75, as well as a Dana S135.

Also, van axles are generally wider then truck axles. I dont know in this application if thats 100% true or not, but Im pretty certain it is. Can I ask whats wrong with yours?

It's snapped (drivers side) and he's stuck on side of road out in the middle of nowhere. There is another thread going presently on the same subject.

That's prolly the fellow that P/M'd me and asked what axle would fit.

The problem I'm having is, he didn't say what vehicle he had, and only gave me some numbers that made no sense.

I P/M'd him back, but he never responded.

What does he have, a 1999 Econoline E350 or the 2002 F350?

If I knew where he was broken down, I could search thru the Ford dealers parts inventory locator system and maybe find him an axle close by.

I think I read E350 in the other thread, will check in a sec.

It is mentioned in his signature only. So that must be it. He is not making himself very clear in any of his posts.

You can't always go by sigs or profiles because some ppl own more than one vehicle.

Since I just cleaned out my mailbox, I have no klew who P/M'd me...is the OP the one who needs the axle? If not, what's the fellows user name?

FTE has another case of the slows again...takes forever to load a message.

All I could come up with is he had a '97 and a '02 E350 and wantrd to use an axle shaft from th '97 in the '02

Weres he at? I have a spare set of axleshafts sitting around.... If hes close, I could donate. 814 571 4568 cell.

However, mine is a SRW sterling axle.
