ford tempo excessive oil consumption 2.3

well it is pretty well covered in the topic....

92 tempo miles unkown but is an efi 2.3 and goes through oil like water but no visible massive leaks i get the feeling it is rings and it is passing the piston and burning it off bc it has a smell to the exaust but it is not what i call an oil smell it seems more like it is running rich....

any common problems with these engines

rings or valve stem seals. PCV stuck or gummed up. Low viscosity oil. Leaks. Being vaporized under the piston top due to high heat.
If you don't see blue smoke, you still can be burning oil. My dad (B29 engine engineer) said that if you see blue smoke, it's REALLY burning oil.

As I already posted ... mine is burning oil too. It appears I get less than 1,000 miles per quart, probably 800. I will try switching to 20-50.
