Raced a 02' eclipse

Im in high school so fast cars/trucks are a big deal. My friend just bought a 02' eclipse and its got all of the ground effects and carbon fiber and what not. He wouldn't shut up about it for weeks sooooooo, I took the 05' FTX Roushed F150. His little ricer is all turboed so thats why i had to get the super charged truck because i think my 460 might be a little slow to win against a car. Any ways where we raced was about a third of a mile. I wasn't to quick off the line because i nailed it right off the start and it lit the 12inch tires up but even when my back end was loose i was still flying by him. I ended up beating him by a good 8 truck lengths. Right around 50mph I made the gap double. His is a stick too, even tho the truck is supercharged i still wouldn't expect it to beat a car. I was so happy about it i thought i would share my tale of American muscle once again crushing a rice burner. :) OOPS sry wrong fourm, kinda I didnt realize at first that this is in the diesel part sorry but i am sure you all would like to hear of a musle truck beating a little ricer :)

Newer eclipses are slow compared to say a 90s gxt.

I bet he thought he was going to win didn't he?:-missingt

What kind of power does the truck have?

Shifting has alot to do with it to. If you cant shift, I dont care what your in (manual trany wise) your gona lose. Good kill though, I bet that shut him up didn't it. :)

yah, he shut his mouth after he got wasted. He was positive he was going to win too. As far as how much power the truck has it is in the 415-425hp at the rear. It has the roush charger w/o the intercooler so it might be even less than that. I would say if it was dynoed i would be in the ball park. :)

Not to bust your chops but it isn't gxt it's a gsx your thinking of. Or a gst which is the front driver turbo.

I had a 98 GST that I did some mods on, that was a very fast car. Just hard to get off of the line and reliability was always an issue. But hey if you layed into it in 2nd once the boost got built up at about 30mph the front tires would squeal :).

Oops. Yeah my roommate in college had a talon tsi that thing halled ass and took off real hard with allwheel drive. My neighber was pissed when it smokes his new lotus elies.

Those talons and eclipse turbo'd cars are quick as heck, my friend richie has a built gst with 650 rwhp and has a shot of no2 on top of that yet, spins all the way down the track ran high 9's spinning. stupid little sports cars

Who cares if it's not a diesel? its a ford truck opening a can of whoopa** on a ricer.
Nice kill. lol

Actually, Eclipses were built in Normal, Illinois by american employees so they are very far from being rice burners.

I myself own (2) 1992 Eagle Talon TSI all wheel drive cars. Same as the Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX with different bumpers and side moldings.

Those 3rd generation Eclipses are really slow.
