Camouflage?
 

No not the 350. I'm thinking of a camo paint job for my cj7 rock rig. I want to use Blue Grey Black and white. with blue as the back ground. Any one have any advice for how to lay out the pattern?

I'm pretty sure you can buy templates but that's as much info as I can provide, sorry.
I've always redneck-rattle-canned mine, doesn't look as good though.

Yeah I'm just gona ratle can it but dont know how to go about masking it off and don't realy want to pay for a templet.

Are you wanting a military style or a new age hunting style.

I could do that. There is a pattern that the military used. Search for it online. I remember painting some guns, howitzers, and we went off a specific pattern.

Get you a piece of plywood or heck practice with a pattern on a fresh cut yard. You will get it.

Yeah I was loking at that and from what i read the patterns are vehicle and item specific and an M38A1 is the only vehicle close to the same shape but they were just painted olive drab. I'm probly over complicating it aren't I. I sould be able to use any patern like for a M37 or something right?

Yeh, I would say so. Get some soap stone and start drawing. When it looks right hold your breath and have at it.

At the worst it would look like my son painted it when he was 3. :)

Or I painted it when I was/am 34!

Actually I just get as many "woodland" flat colors as I can and just start spraying until I like the pattern, I've gotten compliments bafore so it must not be too horrible. Plus you can touch-it-up any time you want. The camo pattern hides body damage well too. That's why I use it on my trail Ramcharger 1-ton 440.
"Ruff-up" you base paint or it won't stick very well.

That's a well set-up wheelin' rig. I'm a straight six fan and I really like EFI 300/4.9L. and Jeep's 4.0L w/ Chrysler's MPI ('91-up).
Never liked Chrysler's Slant sixes though, they're gutless in stock form. You can build them into butt-kicking race motors but why? You can build a V-8 for less money. I get guys that tell me how great the slant-sixes were all the time, I guess they must be talking about them running forever.

Trying to lay some camo on it on the computer. Not easy since all i have is paint.

My first atemp. Turned out pretty good considering. Dont realy like the way the pattern turned out but dose give me an Idea of what it would look like camoed. I just left the blue that was there as the background color, cant hardly tell the fenders were black.

Don't camo it too good. You may loose it.:)
