Rust color on rims
 

I noticed that on my front rims it looks like a rust color that has somehow made it's way from the inside of the rim to the outside. It is mainly on the inside of the spokes, will this come off and had anyone else had this happen to their rims. They are the 17" aluminum on an 07 XLT.

sounds like it is brake pad dust. should come off with some heavy cleaning.

Are you sure it's not brake dust? You need to wash the rims at least twice a month or that dust will be next to impossible to get off.

Yep that's the same thing I was mentioning in my thread about the dirty 20s.. I scrubbed them with a brush and some armour all wheel cleaner and although they look pretty good, some of the rusty/yellow stuff loooks like it is baked right onto the rim.. Oh well.. 2 more years and I give it back..
